Nordion’s Vice President Global Logistics and Risk Management Paul Gray has been named Chairman of the International Source Suppliers and Producers Association (ISSPA) and the Gamma Industry Processing Alliance (GIPA).
Paul assumed the leadership of both organizations from retired Nordion Employee Grant Malkoske, in March.
“I look forward to leading these groups of business peers as we continue to advocate on behalf of our industry,” said Paul. “Our products and services benefit the lives of millions of people around the world and it is important that we work together to ensure what we do is correctly understood and reasonably regulated.”
ISSPA is currently working to increase its presence and acknowledgment as an expert resource of the source production industry to regulators globally. These efforts were recently recognized by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), being the only industry association invited to participate in a new working group dealing with security of sources.
GIPA has had some significant wins in the past few months as they successfully worked with the Ohio government to repeal transport fees on cobalt-60 sources in that state, as well as lobbied the Missouri government to significantly lower their transport fees.
